Committees
All,
With this post I am announcing the formation of a formal group to study self-incorporation of the Center Grove area. Many of you have commented that you would like to get involved and are willing to participate. Without your participation, this effort will not go forward. We are asking that those who volunteer be committed to the process and be willing to commit anywhere from 1 to 5 hours a week, possibly more, depending on the amount of work to be completed.
We will be forming a total of 7 committees. The committees are as follows:
Government, Infrastructure, Finance, Public Safety, Land Use, Economic Development, and Administration and Legal.
You can find the objective and actions required for each committee in this document:
We need 4 -5 people on each committee. If you are interested in helping out, please send your resume along with your top 3 choices of committees. In lieu of a resume, we will accept letters explaining your qualifications and reasons for your selections. Please send your resumes or letters to cgtown@gmail.com
Since we are a group of private citizens, NO resumes will be published on this website. We will be accepting resumes until July 25th.
I will collect and maintain all resumes. I will not be placing individuals on committees. Near the July 25th date, I will schedule a meeting for those who have submitted resumes, most likely on the following Saturday. During this meeting we will select who will serve on each committee. Committees will be populated by a multi-vote system. Each person will receive a packet of all submitted resumes. We will take a few minutes to review the resumes and begin to place individuals on committees by votes. Once we have all committees populated, we will organize ourselves by committee in order to introduce ourselves to fellow committee members. Each committee will elect a designated leader. The designated leader will coordinate activities/actions within their committee.
Whether you are a long time resident or new to Center Grove, you are welcome to participate. If you are one of those who think we should have incorporated years ago, we especially want to hear from you. As I have stated before, this is the time to pull together as a community and unite on the common theme of creating the town of Center Grove. I have done all I can on my own. It is time for the citizens to express their desire to incorporate with their actions and not just their words.
I am presently Director of Fleet Systems for the Indiana Dept. of Administration. I am a database guru, veteran project manager and lean six sigma black belt. I would like to explore the opportunity of joining a movement to incorporate the town of Center Grove. Please tell me when your next meeting will be and where. I know some veteran State employees who live in Center Grove and might be interested in being on key committees.
